All premiums include baggage at a standard of £1500, maximum £300 per single item. Baggage cover can be increased to £3000 with a maximum single item claim of £500 by paying the extra premium shown in the price tables.
Europe includes Russia west of the Urals and Black Sea Resorts. Mediterranean Islands, Morocco, Tunisia, Madeira, Canary Islands, Turkey and Azores.
Worldwide – anywhere in the world although certain exclusions may apply eg. Political and social unrest in a certain area. Please refer to the list of countries at the top of this page.
Mountaineering is covered up to an altitude of 7000m. Higher altitudes will be covered after additional premiums are paid depending on the area and type of route to be ascended.
The excess is only payable once if you are making a claim which involves more than one section of the policy.
The cover provided is for overseas travel from your country of domicile only but does include commencing and final return to your country of domicile.
Single trip policies are available to persons under 70 years. Policies can be provided for those of 70 or over on request.
Annual trip policies are available to persons under 70 years and may be provided for those of 70 and over on request.
Children under 16 years of age rated at half the standard premiums.
Free cover is granted to infants born before the date of departure and/or aged 2 years or under at date of departure. Available only when travelling with an adult insured on the same certificate.
Our Definitions of trekking, climbing and mountaineering
Trekking – Non climbing graded terrain and scrambling is included in Climbing and Trekking Cover and Snowsports Cover. Trekking where crossing snow/ice/glaciated terrain is an expected part of the trek ONLY included under Mountaineering Cover.
Rock climbing – Leader placed protection and bolt protected routes which you do not expect to take more than one day. Also any type of climbing recognised as bouldering.
Mountaineering – Climbing where snow and ice conditions are an expected part of the ascent and/or any climbing expedition where the ascent of the rock face is expected to take more than one day.
Choosing your period of cover
Single Trip Cover – Designed for short trips. Standard period of cover can be chosen up to 31 days then add on additional weeks if required.
Annual Multi trip Cover – For trips away up to 90 days in duration. (This limit can be removed with payment of an additional premium, contact us directly for more information).
NOTE You are only covered whilst engaged in climbing/trekking &/or snowsports activities for up to a maximum of 90 days during the Period of Insurance . If you are going to participate in these activities for more than 90 days during the year of insurance please contact us for a quote to extend the 90 day activity limit.
Customised – We can extend single cover to 365 days on request. Plus once you are on your trip if you feel you need to extend your policy just contact us and we will extend your cover at your request.
This insurance is available for non-manual business or holiday travel having a destination outside the country of domicile which does not present any special hazard such as visits to politically disturbed areas, hazardous or manual occupation (excepting those sports specifically covered in the polices).

If within 10 days of taking out this insurance and before the date of departure, you discover it is unsuitable, your premium will be refunded to you in full, provided you have not made a claim and return your certificate to the Broker/ Agent who issued it.
